Moringa (horseradish tree / Moringa oleifera) is a very fast-growing, small to medium-sized tree with fragrant white or red flowers. Particularly characteristic are its short thick trunk and its long, hanging beans, which look like drum sticks and are a popular vegetable.

Horseradish smells strongly from its roots, which is why the Moringa tree is also called the horseradish tree. In Ayurveda it is known as the 'tree of life'. For the Ayumeda extracts its double or triple pinnate leaves are used.
